Lilah was wide awake today again when we arrived and sucking on the collar of her shirt clearly hungry and ready to eat! The occupational therapist got her to bottle 31ml of her 52ml feeding which is a huge amount for her. They are still adjusting the cut in the nipple to get her the most amount of formula in 20 minutes without upsetting her stomach. She tends to run out of energy after about 20 minutes.
The other thing they are going to try starting today is to put her on a semi-cue based feeding schedule. Instead of feeding her every three hours, they will feed her when she wakes and shows signs she is hungry. Apparently she has been waking a 1/2 hour to hour earlier then her scheduled feeding (just like this morning when we arrived). This might help the reflux by giving her the same volume of food more frequently over the course of the day.
Dave, Alec and I had a nice visit with her today.
