A breath of fresh air

This day has brought many changes. It has been five weeks and three days since I have been outside. Thank goodness it isn't too terribly cold or I wouldn't have made it to the car!

I was finally able to hold Lilah today. Unfortunately the "kangaroo hold" shows a little too much skin in the picture for social media. She is a very wiggly baby, but once we settled in the chair she quickly fell asleep. Dave and I were trying to decide if she was snoring or if it was the tubing. She is still on the cpap machine but they continue drop the breathing assistance so she does more of the work on her own. Over the last few days they have detected a small heart murmer and will watch and wait to see if they need to take any action.

Alec has decided that he doesn't much like the cpap tube and was able to remove it on his own... a few times. Because of this the doctors have decided that they will just leave it off for now. He is showing them that he can handle things just fine without it.

It was extremely hard to leave today, but I just keep telling myself they are in good hands and I can go and see them many times over the next few months.
